If you’re not familiar with the man (and I use that term loosely) pictured above, his name is Dwight Eubanks and he currently stars as “Ne Ne’s friend” on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I’ll admit that the show is one of my guilty pleasures, and I never miss an episode. I love Dwight and the character that he represents on the show “the gay black best friend,” now nothings wrong with that…but what Dwight is currently doing now is nothing short of wrong…or is it?
In the last week, Dwight has announced his engagement….to a woman! Ummmm, yes I’m serious. No really, I’m not joking and apparently neither is he. (Somebody say April Fools..quick..please!) The reality star represents a huge problem that I’ve noticed in Atlanta; black men fronting I can’t count the number of my friends who attended Spelman and used to call me with horror stories about black men who said they were “straight,” but in reality they would be sleeping with men as well. I don’t know what’s more offensive, pretending to be straight, or just being blatantly out and then turning around and saying you’re in love with a woman?
Either way, there’s alot of posing going on in Atlanta, and it’s ruining lives. It needs to stop NOW.
ps. Yep those are FUR pants…I’m smh as well. Martin, Malcolm, and Rosa are probably rolling in their graves over this…foolery!
